Bad Bunny - El Último Tour Del Mundo

For the past year my phone has been in Spanish.

Instead of having a “Notification Center” I have a “Centro de Notificaciones”, every time I type “haha” autocorrect makes it into “jaja”. I can’t remember the exact reason I did this but, I think I assumed that it’d help me learn Spanish. It has not. What it has done is made Spanish less intimidating; I can enjoy it even if I don’t understand it. This is important because Bad Bunny is one of the best artists of our generation and he only raps in Spanish. So now when he drops music, I can be excited.

With that said let’s get into Bad Bunny’s new album “El Último Tour Del Mundo”.

This album is the definition of “you know the vibes”.

I don’t know what Bad Bunny raps about, but I know he’s rapping his ass off. Dude flows so well and understands HOW to MAKE a song. A lot of artists are great at rapping but have no idea how to do song structure. Bad Bunny knows what he’s doing; he’s like Young Thug if he mixed his lean with Jarritos instead of Fanta. This album made me feel a little bit better about the fact I’m actively gentrifying a Puerto Rican community. I can’t wait to blast this while show my neighbor the Tequila I just bought like we’re “brothers” even though I’m living in the frankensteined version of his brother’s former home.

What I’ve gathered from this album is that it’s conceptually about a road trip cross country. It has escapist energy and reminds me of every movie that ends with the hero “riding off in the sunset”. It’s really medicinal in 2020 as we all just want to escape and run far away. This album is for the people who watch videos of planes taking off with neck pillows on and pretend they’re going on vacation. If you need an album to listen to while you optimistically scroll through dating apps to talk to people you’ll never meet cuz there’s an invisible virus ready to kill us all, this album will do the trick.

Now when it comes to faults, I don’t know Spanish so I can’t say anything lyrically. But I will say some of these songs sound very similar, I don’t know what Bad Bunny is saying but I get the vibe he’s saying “I have fun, I get money, and no one can tell me otherwise” over and over. Also this album would be great to listen to while drinking a corona, and that’s just a bummer to think about.

I really liked this album, it’s a nice break from the shit storm that is 2020, and I really recommend you all listen to it. Bad Bunny is dope, even if you don’t know Spanish.

I give “El Último Tour Del Mundo” 8 packets of Sazón out of 9.
