So after a couple weeks of listening to other genres I'm back to rap.
It's weird that I was mad at rappers for saying "what about black on black crime" but I really like hearing 21 rap about killing entire families.
Anyway im back to it and I thought I'd start with Anderson .Paak. Aka Cool Kendrick Lamar. Like if Kendrick Lamar did acid and respected women more he'd probably be Anderson .Paak.
I didn't know what to expect with this album but it's pretty dope.
There's a lot of soul here. Anderson hasn't had an easy life and it shows in the music; any nigga from the hood who has a nose ring has had to struggle at some point. Malibu is like To Pimp A Butterfly lite, similar themes but white people won't feel (as) guilty.
It's also really sensual, not sexual, sensual. Like this is some shit you would play to impress a girl that already wants to fuck your but you think you gotta "wow her". If you wanna make a lady frustrated enough to make the first move, this is the album for you.
The only downside to this album is that it's too Swaggy, I played this while I was getting dressed and ended up putting on an extra layer just to embrace colors and shit. I can handle all the swags but the laymen in generic Jordan releases might not be able to.
I rock with this album, it's a good welcome back to my favorite Genre of music. I give it 8 turquoise pinky rings out of 9.
